An answer to the big life dilema!!!

What big life dilemma you ask??? With Jordan going to Jr. High and Mady starting first grade, I have been wondering what to do with myself. Well, finally after a long hard search and a whole lot of prayer, I have found the answer! Here is the story....

I have been looking all over trying to find a job that I can do that will take me away from my family as little as possible. Sounds easy right? Well...it's a LOT harder than it sounds. After looking high and low I finally found a listing for a job at a local elementary school. I applied for that job. The next day I had been asked to come to Jordan's Jr. High to help with registration at 8am. For those who know me, you know what a task it is for me to be anywhere at 8!!! Well, I got ready, got down there to have them tell me they weren't doing it that day! I was sooooo bugged that I had to get up for nothing! Well...as I got into my car I read the marque sign at the school that said they were hiring a part time secretary. I got this awesome feeling that this would be the job for me. Since I had just left, I quickly called the office to ask them about it. They let me know the hours and more information. The next day, on my way to the pool,I dropped my application off. I was in my swimming clothes so I about died when the Vice Principal wanted to have a quick interview with me. I went through the interview and he told me he'd let me know in a couple days. On Monday, I got a call to come in for another interview. The next day I went to the interview and met more faculty. Later that afternoon I got a call and they offered me the job. I am so excited!!!

I will be the new afternoon ISS Secretary. I will only be working 4 hours a day and will have off all of the same days as the kids. I will always be home for my kids when they are home. It is perfect!!! It will also allow me to be involved in Jordan, and eventually all of the kids Jr. High experience. After all the looking, stress and prayers....I am so glad to finally figure it out and know what I will be doing! It's a great feeling.

Where do I go from here???

Jordan & Sir

As a child I can remember the age old question...What do you want to be when you grow up? My answer to that was consistently "a mom". All I ever dreamed about as a kid was falling in love with my prince charming, having children together and living happily ever after. I have always loved being a mom. I have never found a joy that can compare to that which is felt when your child does something good.
The Boys!!!

Jordan has graduated from Elementary and will move to Jr. High next year. HOW??? Where did all the time go? It feels like he is still my little baby, streaking through the house pushing his toy vacuum. How did he become this little man who no longer wants me to kiss his "boo boos" or give him butterfly kisses ???

(I made this video for Jordan as a graduation present.)

AND AS IF THAT ISN'T BAD ENOUGH.....

Mady & Mrs. Lund

To add insult to injury, my youngest, Mady, will be starting 1st grade. Bringing to an end all of the days we spend together hanging out. The end of snuggling in bed watching TV together, folding laundry and doing chores together, playing games...no more "Mady's hair salon and day spa", no more eating lunch while watching our favorite soap opera. ;) All the simple treasures that I have enjoyed with these sweet children have come to an end. We will start a new chapter in life. Uncharted waters are ahead. And I can't help but feel sad about the times that I will no longer get to share with them.

Graduation

As I have spoken to my friends they have all assured me that this is the BEST thing ever!!! I finally have all this free time to myself. I should be jumping for joy at this new found freedom. However, I have never been so sad!!! I feel so lost, so out of place. I have never pictured myself doing anything besides this. So I ask....where do I go from here??? School??? Job??? What does one do when all they have known comes to a screeching halt when they aren't looking?

Mady & Hadley Judd

I am sure things will all work out fine and I know I still have summers to cherish. However, I do find myself scrambling to find my next path in life. I am very proud however to see what my children have become. To watch them enjoy the lives they have before them. I love the relationships we have formed over these years and hope that we can remain just as close. I guess for now I will just embrace the time we do have together and let the rest figure itself out!!!

Thank you!
