Rock N Roll Braydo!

Brayden decided he wanted to start playing the guitar. Last year he and his friends formed a little band and he loved being the singer for them. However, he decided it would be great to be able to play the guitar AND sing. After several months, we found a place down the hill called the Rock N Roll Academy. At this place he takes private guitar lessons but they also put him in a band with kids around his age. The band he is in is called Thunderwear. He had his first gig with them at Mo's Bar & Grill.

Here he is singing Summer Rays.

Here he is on stage rocking out.

Makayla and Evan had fun playing a game at the bar. I just thought this was a funny picture of 2 kids at the bar with the Budweiser sign behind them! LOL

We can't wait to see Brayden's next gig at Mo's on the 29th. It will be a costume party and we hope Brayden will even get to play bass this time! YAY Braydo!

Matt's Awesome 80's Birthday Part 1-Making the cake

Birthdays at our house have become somewhat of an ordeal! We love having people over and we LOVE having a great time. Nothing is more fun then combining that with a birthday and a little silliness! What better way to achieve this than a great theme party? This year for Matt's birthday, I decided 80's would be so much fun.

For his birthday cake, my sister-in-law Shawna wanted to make a rubix cube! Here she is above greasing up her hands and arms to get ready to roll out the fondant.

Here she is with the big fondant snake. After this we cut the fondant into 6 pieces and then we had to color 5 of them for the colored squares of the rubix cube.

Here is Shawna, myself and Andrea squishing the colors into the fondant!

And here is Shawna strategically placing all the colored squares on the cube. It was fun to make this cake and hang out with my sister-in-laws. Thanks Shawna for putting up with me and for doing almost all of the work for this awesome cake! You are amazing. :)

Matt's Awesome 80's Birthday Part 2- Let the fun begin!

Here are some of the great pictures of the awesome 80's party!

This is me and my HOT pink costume. The funny part about this costume is that I totally saw this skirt on one of my students so I just asked her where she got it. One trip to Hot Topic later and Ta-Da....one great costume!

Here is Makayla with her awesome pink hair and great costume.

Here is the 80's prom pose. Matt was trying to be a nerd so he had his "nerd face". It cracks me up!

Oh what an adorable couple! ;)

Here is Rich and Trevor eating in their amazing costumes. Another adorable couple right? HaHa
