Southern Caribbean Cruise 2011

The ship we went on was the Carnival Dream. It's the newest Carnival ship as of yet and I believe its the biggest they have so far.

After a brutal red-eye flight and being up for more than 24 hours....we finally made it onto our cruise. You can clearly see how tired I was but we were totally excited to start our adventure!. :)

Day 1: Here is the view of Port Canaveral from our ship

 
As we were pulling away from the pier there was this cool beach with all kinds of RV hookups. I was thinking how cool it would be to camp here. I spotted this lifeguard station and thought of Jordan...how cool would it be to lifeguard here right?

This is our cute little home away from home. Cabin #9225...complete with turn down service, chocolates and the towel elephant. You gotta love cruising!

On deck 5 they have all these cool overhangs. Some are lounge/dining areas, some are hot tubs and this was in one of them. A huge life-sized chess set. Here is Matt hangin with the queens.

Here is the Lido deck on our ship. Carnival Dream. They were doing a limbo contest.

This is the Lobby Atrium with the glass staircase. You can see on the platform there is a piano where there was a constant live performance.

This is one of the cool water slides on our ship. It was "the tunnel" a toilet bowl kind of slide where you would swirl around and then it spit you out the bottom. NO...I didn't try this but Matt did and gave it a thumbs up!

Nassau, Bahamas

Day 2: Nassau, Bahamas.
 This was our 3rd trip to this Island so we decided just to walk around, shop and explore.

Of course a trip with me is never complete unless I forget something. This time it was hairspray so we went to the local grocery store to find some. SCORE!

Oh the fun things you find when you are shopping in foreign lands! Makayla...your dad made me do it! ;)

Here is a street view of the shopping area in downtown Nassau.

This is Atlantis. A world renowned resort in Nassau. This is the tour we usually take when we are in Nassau. The grounds here are AMAZING and a must see to anyone visiting Nassau.

This is a cool picture of Atlantis with a cruise ship in the background. This is NOT our ship. This is Royal Caribbeans gigantic Oasis of the Seas. We travelled along with this ship and it made our ship look like a baby. It was nearly twice as wide and had some pretty cool features.  We might have to stray from Carnival to go on this boat.

Me with our waiter. He had the strangest sense of humor and caught me off guard a lot. In this one...he asked us if we wanted a picture together. We said yes...and he put his arm around me. (awkward much?)

St. Thomas, Virgin Islands

Day 3: St. Thomas, Virgin Islands- We got off the boat and did some shopping on our own. Then we had a Magens Bay beach tour later in the afternoon.

This was a little bar/restaurant along the street of downtown.

This guy was outside an open air market. He was selling these fresh coconuts to tourists to drink from. He had a huge machete that he used to cut the top part off then he'd just put a straw in it.

This is a cool alley at the shopping center in St. Thomas.

A view overlooking Magens Bay (St. Thomas). This was named one of the top 10 beaches in the world and rightly so...It was beautiful!!!

THIS...is Megans Bay. It was one of the coolest beaches I have ever been on. There were no waves and the water was clear enough to see everything w/o snorkel gear.  This was probably our favorite thing about our trip!

Nothing like soft white sand between your toes.

The brush was so thick you couldn't walk through it but, there was this really cool tunnel in one part of  it.

I retract my previous "cool place to lifeguard" statement. This spot definitely has that one beat! I think I could get used to this life!

Matt ordered fish (which I hate) and I made a face so the waiter held it in front of me. He thought it was hilarious.
