More Birthday Fun!!!

Yep...another birthday party. This week was Kash's 1st Birthday! I can not believe the little guy is already one. I swear just yesterday Meg was pregnant with him.....time has flown by so fast. For his birthday he had a water party. There were tons of fun pools, water balloons, games and a giant slip n slide!!!

Here is Matt at the party....see Grandma...he does know how to smile normal for a picture, he just doesn't like to! ;)

Here is Mady attempting the slip n slide! For the life of her she would NOT go on her belly!

Finally Matt had to just pull/push her down it so she could go more than 2 feet!

More fun water activities!

Above is a picture of Trevor as he came off the slip n slide. For some reason he was the only one who had to roll and twist as he came down the slide. He cracks me up!

Kash wasn't a huge fan of the water as you can see from this picture. But....doesn't Trevor look soooo adorable in that cute little baby pool???

After the water fun it was time for Kash to open presents!

This face says it all for me! He was so excited to see all the fun new toys he was getting!

Grandma Jeri scored some points with this xylophone!!! He wouldn't even put it down to open the rest of the presents and again... how can you not just love that little face???

This is the picture of the pure joy both a mother and a grandmother feel about milestones like these. I don't think either of them could smile any bigger!

Mady took a few minutes after presents and cake to do a little fishing....That's right dad....looks like we have another angler on our hands. Maybe one day she will even gut her own fish like her mama?

Mady had a great time with all her new friends. Thanks Kash for inviting us to your birthday party! We had a wonderful time and we love you very much! We can't wait to see what you do for your 2nd birthday!!! ;)

Weekend fun!

This weekend we had a Kyani convention in Layton so Trina, Kody, Krissy and Cam were in town for the convention. We were glad to have "Tri-Ko" stay here with us. Although the convention was long and a little bit draining... we managed to have a lot of fun! One night we played a little guitar hero in the backyard. Even our neighbors Ryan & Kim joined in on the fun! We loved having them over and were glad they were good sports about me taking pics! ;)

Sunday was a FaNtAsTiC day! At church I had to help sub Jordan's class for Sunday school. It was really fun for me because Jordan came to the front of the room to sit with me so we could look up scriptures together. We had a pretty good time in class.

Following that, I was able to go into primary where Joe & Boogs teacher had to leave... so I spent singing time sitting between the two of them. During singing time, Brayden was the spotlight child. They put a full length mirror up that said the words I am a child of God on it. They had Brayden stand in the front of the room looking into the mirror. They continued to explain to him how although he has been born of earthly parents, he is still very much a child of God and that both have given him very unique traits and talents. Some of the traits they listed that he got from me were his blue eyes and Blond hair. The traits he got from God were his love for people, his kind heart, his sweet spirit. It was really neat and I was really glad to get to be there with him for that.

After church we went to Andrea's birthday party! Sadly she had been up all night with a bad case of food poisoning. She was a trooper and pressed through it all! The kids had a blast playing with all the kids! We loved that Evan was able to help Andrea blow out the candles on her birthday cake! He couldn't quite figure it out but would do this tight lipped blow! It was cute as a button to watch so I had to get some pictures of course!

Brayden really enjoyed the birthday cake and was even nice enough to share with all of us just how much he really did like it! Lucky for him...it was bright blue frosting as well! YUMMY!

Matt had a great time playing with the kids too! After all, he is just a big kid right??? What you can't see is that Evan is pushing him from behind helping him go. I think he got a kick out of seeing a grown man on a little bike! Uncle Matt is a dork huh Evan???

Makayla & Mady enjoy their yummy Astro Bars!!!

Later Sunday night.......We had promised the kids if they were good we'd come home and get in the hot tub. We got home and they were able to get in! We had music playing and they were dancing and having a great time!

We were even lucky enough to have tickets! Tickets to what???

The GUN show!!! Jordan was kind enough to give us a show of his overwhelmingly large, incredibly cut arms! Aren't you impressed???

We finished up the night jumping on the trampoline with the neighbors!

What a great way to spend a Sunday! I am such a lucky girl. I have been blessed with such a great little family and I love spending moments like this with them.

Happy Birthday to you!!!

Yesterday was my nephew Braker's 4th birthday. We had a party at my parents house to celebrate with him.

Unfortunately, we started off the B-day bash by Braker splitting his bottom lip open falling up the front steps. He was tough though and hardly shed a tear!

He even took time to pose for this picture to show me how old he was. Bloody fingers and all! What a tough guy!

After dinner it was time to open presents! The best part of having a birthday right? ;) Braker is really into the Incredible Hulk right now so he got lots of stuff related to that. He got these Hulk Hands boxing gloves that make noise when you hit stuff with them. They were a riot.

Braker has Hulk Hands....WATCH OUT EVERYONE!!!!! The wheels in his little head are spinning...what will he do next????

UH OH.......Jordan takes a beating by the "HULK" Watch out Jordan!!!

Another present Braker got was some church clothes. The funny thing about this is that it was his next favorite present that he received. He calls them his "Ladies & Gentlemen clothes" and he would live in them if he could. I have no idea what makes him love them so much as most kids can't stand to get dressed up, but he LOVES them and we couldn't get him to change out of them for the rest of the night. What a kid!!!

Mady & Grandma have a good time at the party! Mady sure loves her Grandma Paula!!! We love hanging out with family and having a great time. Happy 4th birthday Braker! We LOVE you!!!!

Baking Cookies....

With all the stuff that has been going on in our life with my accident and our trip, I haven't seen a few of our neighbors for awhile. I decided that it would be fun to bake cookies to take over to them. I asked my adorable children for their help. I have decided that it's better to ask the cats for help next time!!!

Why...You ask???? Well, I did everything myself but once the dough was made............

This is what happens when you get my offspring around cookie dough. These are definitely MY children! They were in heaven when I got all the cookies made and let them take after the bowl. I think I earned a ton of bonus points tonight. :)

Don't worry she has her food handler's permit! ;) I promise this was AFTER we got all the cookies out of the bowl and this was the leftovers. You don't have to worry next time we cook anything for you!

This picture is by far my favorite. The dough is actually dripping off of her fingers she has so much on them! That is a happy Moo Moo!!! :) I guess that sometimes the joy is in making the cookies not so much in how they turned out huh? I hope the neighbors will enjoy them as much as the kids enjoyed making them!

Red, White and Blue Trip!!!

For the 4th of July holiday we headed off to San Diego with Matt's family. On the 3rd Makayla went to Sea World with Grammy and the other kids while Matt and I took the chance to sneak away to see the movie Get Smart. Later on we met up in a place called "Old Town". I LOVED this place. It was a great old fashioned town with streets lined with fun shops and places to eat. There were tons of Mexican restaurants and you could watch them make their own tortillas in the window. It was so much fun! I only wish we had more time to spend there when more shops were open. I guess we'll have to go back. :) We had dinner at a Mexican place called Fred's. The food was great and the atmosphere too. Poor Makayla was tuckered out from her big day at Sea World and she crashed in her chair before the food even got there. We decided it would be fun to take a picture so a guy from Fred's rounded up a sombrero and we put it on her for a photo op! She had NO idea!!! It was hilarious and then they let her keep the hat so it was a bonus.

For the 4th of July we went to the San Diego Zoo. I was sad that we didn't have the other kids with us for this but they were off in Lake Powell with their dad having their own fun! We took lots of pictures for them though. One really neat thing we did at the zoo was to feed the Giraffes! Since Mady wasn't there we just HAD to do this for her!!! It was amazing to watch these GINORMOUS creatures eating from our hands. They had the longest tongues that would curl around the biscuits and then just take them in. Makayla was a little afraid of them at first but then she had a great time.
We also had to take lots of pictures of the monkeys for Brayden who I swear IS one! There were millions of them so that was pretty easy to do!
After the zoo we went out for some dinner to a place called Islands. I had never seen the San Diego temple in person so I wanted to see that. It was great because Islands was right by the temple so we were able to get a picture from the restaurant.
After dinner we decided to hit the beach. Because it was a holiday...this proved to be quite a challenge. We had to drive around quite a bit but finally found a spot in La Jolla. I have got to say that I LoVeD La Jolla. It was soooo beautiful. I would love to live there. The beach was beautiful and we had a lot of fun playing in the sand.
After the fun on the beach we decided to head near Sea World to see the fireworks. From there you can see like 10 different fireworks shows. It was really crowded but we found a spot to park and watch them. I found myself distracted by all the crazy people around us and can honestly say.....I didn't really watch many of the fireworks but still had quite a show!
After the fireworks we drove to Yuma, AZ to Matt's brother Chucks house for his baby Damons blessing. It was fun to see them since we haven't seen them since Christmas. We enjoyed spending time with our nieces and nephews as well as brothers and sister in laws!

Alainas "gangster face"
Our "gangsta faces"
Once we got to Yuma we were able to relax and just enjoy spending time with the family. We had a YuMmY lunch at In and Out Burger which I have to say is my favorite! Saturday night was a pool party at Chuck and Shawna's we swam and had a poolside dance party! Even grammy was getting her groove on! We also enjoyed being a part of our nephew Damon's blessing and the dinner that followed at Shawnas parents house. We had a lot of good times on this trip and I am glad we were able to spend time with family that we don't get to see often. We loved being "Uncle Putz and Aunt Klutz" for the weekend!!!

Thank you!
